A drain camera helps turn an otherwise hidden pipe condition into visible information. It can be useful when a blockage keeps returning or when the problem may be farther down the line.
What it may reveal
Depending on visibility, the camera may show grease buildup, debris, sediment, damaged sections or unusual joints, and can help estimate the location of a problem.
When it is especially useful
If the same drain blocks again soon after clearing or several fixtures are affected, seeing the inside of the line can help choose the next step more accurately.
It has limits
Standing water, bends and heavy debris can reduce visibility, so camera images still need to be interpreted together with what is happening on site.
